Huck's Helping Hands
Savannah, 8 Niskayuna, NY Collected art supplies for a brain injury rehabilitation hospital's art program
Savannah's grandpa suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2008. Since then, she has done lots of community service events to raise awareness for TBIs. This year, she collected art supplies at her school which were then donated to the Northeast Center for Special Care in Kingston, NY where her grandpa received his care. The art program was a huge part of his therapy and Savannah wanted others with a brain injury to benefit from that as well. It made her feel wonderful to be able to help others and carry on her grandpa's memory. The art program is so beneficial with the therapy of those with brain injuries.
